Woman Killed, Child Injured In Meadowbrook Parkway Crash Involving Drunk Driver, Police Say

A woman was killed and a child injured in an overnight crash involving a drunk driver on the Meadowbrook Parkway, police said.

It happened just after midnight on Sunday, Feb. 2 north of exit M7 in Hempstead.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the collision occurred when a 2012 Nissan Rogue traveling northbound struck the rear of a 2006 Kia, state police said.

The impact caused the Kia to leave the roadway onto the right shoulder before striking a tree, according to police.

The operator of the Kia, Lissette Quintanilla, 39, of South Hempstead, was taken to Nassau University Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries, said police. 

The passenger, age 7, was taken to Cohen Children’s Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

The operator of the Nissan, Nicole A. Pollock, 26, of Freeport, was placed under arrest and charged with the following:

  • first-degree vehicular manslaughter (Class C felony),
  • second-degree vehicular manslaughter (Class D felony), 
  • second-degree (Class D felony), 
  • second-degree vehicular assault (Class E felony),
  • and DWI.
